“Jack is doing much better in school and with his homework and he is following instructions a lot better. His spelling and handwriting have really come on and he is doing his English homework pretty much by himself. He might have done this with maths before, but never English. Also, he can now do 150 piece jigsaw puzzles! He would have had no chance of organising all the pieces a few weeks ago.”

Huw – Age 13

Before
  • Severe speech & language difficulties
  • Writing difficulties
After

“He got another award for academic progress this year…. His writing is greatly improved from even a year and a half ago when things were still very garbled.”

“Huw spends lots of time on PE now. He is very keen on gross motor activities and his hand-eye coordination and strength are now maturing. He got another award for academic progress this year. He is coming on nicely at piano and likes it. He is a good sight-reader and he plays and sings along! “

“Huw now writes all the time, mainly movie scenes. His writing is greatly improved from even a year and a half ago when things were still very garbled. He can use the third person now and his stories, though basic, are coherent and his syntax is a lot better. He can now fill a whole page of A4. It’s odd that the thing he finds most difficult is the thing he can spend ages doing in his spare time – making and illustrating his own stories.”

  • Problems with organisation
  • Problems with social development

“Do you know something has changed with Kate because she is happily and voluntarily reading books. I am now buying her books for her Kindle on a regular basis. This is another positive change I have seen and she does seem happier in herself.”

“Kate’s organisation seems to have improved and she has made a good friend for the first time. She seems to be a lot happier in school and everyone has noticed that she is doing a lot better socially.”

Sean – Age 11

Before

“Sean had always found school quite difficult. . . It was madness and a horrid, stressful time”

After

“. . things became calmer and the struggles and unpleasant scenes over homework eased off. . . Sean is now working at age-related expectations for all subjects”

“Our son Sean had always found school quite difficult…. we cooperated with the school’s suggestions, including having Sam assessed by an Educational Psychologist.  However, things turned out to be more stressful than I could have imagined…  The extra work that the interventions entailed, on top of the usual spellings, times tables and reading practice when he was just too tired – all on top of full days at school.  It was madness and a horrid, stressful time.

I…had Sean assessed and up and running on Edutherapy.  There was a gradual change, things became calmer and the struggles and unpleasant scenes over homework eased off.  Sean’s school work slowly began to improve…There followed two years at state primary, where Sean was very happy and had overcome all the original problems with focus and attention.  By the end of that time Sean had not only caught up with his peer group but he was very popular and developing impressive social skills.”
